Mike Burt (56)
Professor Mike Burt is a founder of Trackdale and one of the UK’s foremost authorities on semiconductor quantum electronics. He was recognised as pre-eminent in the subject by the meritious award of a Doctor of Science from Oxford University. He had a distinguished career in BT’s research laboratories from 1979-2000 where he filed the base patent for the Quantum Well Electro Absorption Modulator (EAM). This key patent formed the basis for a family of EAM intellectual property, which was subsequently exploited by BTG and others who licensed the patent group to manufacturing companies around the world.
