Trackdale awarded SMART award to develop gas sensors.
Trackdale Ltd, the nanotechnology materials application company, has been awarded grants totalling £122K by the East of England Development Agency to develop the company’s materials process to encompass gas sensing applications. These grants, payable over an eighteen month programme, will enable the company to conduct market research to accurately target the most attractive segments of the Gas sensing market, develop the company’s colloidal Quantum Dot process to target applications in the 3-6 micron range, and produce initial prototypes for customer assessment.
Commenting on the Award, David Sexton, Chairman of Trackdale said “ The UK produces about 85% of the gas detector modules used worldwide – it’s a real example where the UK leads the world. We are extremely fortunate that two of the market leaders are located in the Anglian region, both of whom have expressed an interest in utilising our technology in their devices. This grant from EEDA enables us to undertake this exciting project without impacting our other programmes.”
